This episode I sit down with Kairo Maynard, who works within the field of mental health as a qualified Dramatherapist. I’ve had the opportunity to speak to Kairo and understanding a perspective on mental health and treatment that would be fair to say isn’t quite commonly known about. Through the conversation, we delve into the field of Dramatherapy as an alternative yet highly effective form of therapy while also understand what Kairo’s own experience was like during her attainment. From covering topics such as being assigned a therapist herself, perspectives on how we talk about mental health but also shedding light on just how important it is for people, particularly young people to talk about their mental wellbeing. A really insightful conversation, in which I hope will allow a refreshed understanding of what drama therapy is about and understanding the therapist behind the therapy.

Having achieved many accolades along the way, notably having Jude Law as a lead actor for one of his plays, throughout the conversation we uncover the perils and tribulations that Abe has gone through in his journey. From couch surfing to working jobs that were meaningless but also understanding the importance of a strong friendship support network who have been able to continually push him and his talents to take him where he is today and where he desires to go moving forward. While coming from a talented family, Danny goes into detail how supporting his own siblings endeavours led to a Screen Nation Award winning web series.

You may have seen recently that I had got made a personalised gold teeth set with The Forté F engraved on; this had come from Jaye himself. While we sit down, I get to understand how he got into the jewellery game, what his journey was like prior but also understanding quite interestingly enough how the Job Centre supported him getting into the trade.
